Week of January 16, 2012

publish eBook on Kindle instead of pdf
  • convert eBook to Kindle -->> doesn't make any sense to do this...ebook is not set up that way. On to plan B.
Plan B
ebook viral - offer it free for one day and see what happens
  • change header DONE!
  • Thurs evening change price and change sales price on sales page
if viral then
  1. change sales page, upload PDF which allows them to download it
  2. stop paying for ejunkie
  3. create opt in image for email like Pat's free ebook???
if not viral then plan C
    • change eBook to kindle ready putting worksheets and other info on blog price
    Done!
    Notes:

    • If refund needed via paypal http://www.ehow.com/how_8574439_refund-transaction-ejunkie.html
      • bloggingtips
        • If you want your ebook to become a viral marketing tool then offer the ebook for anyone to download. Create a landing page/announcement post on your blog with specifics about your ebook and of course the download link. Ask readers to download and offer their opinions on your ebook; to distribute or recommend it to their peers. Include a link to the download/landing page in your email signature, forum signatures and anywhere else online where your ebook could be publicized.
        • If you want to increase subscribers as a result of distributing your ebook,  offer the download link through the footer of your RSS feed. Both WordPress and Blogger offer the means to add content to the footer of your blog feed. Alternatively, create a Feedflare to use with Feedburner which includes the link to your free ebook.
    • from iyke:
      •  I suggest you create that awesome eBook and give it 100% free. By 100% I mean no opt-in required.

    Engagement from Scratch Firepole

    Download for free:  http://www.engagementfromscratch.com/download.html

    My Notes:
      • from BusinessesGrow.com/blog
        • "Like a child, my posts were honest, blind to politics, and playful. It was just a pure expression of what was on my mind. I didn’t know it at the time, but this is a rare commodity on the social web. Digging down deep and providing something really different and exciting got the community to notice. Fight "sameness" with your every blogging breath."

      • Blogs and Websites: UnlockTheDoor.net ...Our Favorite Blog Post: Redundancy and the Things it Brings "The social media platforms I use are Facebook, Twitter, Digg, StumbleUpon, and LinkedIn."
      • Social triggers:  "I then went to Alltop.com, and found blogs that were related to those main audiences. Once I had a list of similar blogs, I emailed each of them a personalized pitch talking about the article I had written."

      2011 Review

Real quick review - won't be posting anything new until 2012

The biggest thing I've learned is to do my own thing. I have 5 years to get this off the ground - if I stress about following all of the suggestions I want to give up.

If I do what I think is right then I keep plugging away and eventually I'll get there.
